In the golden autumn of September, the industry gathered for a significant event. The 39th Forum on Lubrication Technology successfully concluded in Nanchang on September 25, 2025. Hosted by PetroChina Lubricant Company, this forum once again served as a vital platform for knowledge exchange and technological demonstration in the lubrication field. Universal Analytical Technology was honored to participate, showcasing products from its represented brands, including PCS Instruments, TANNAS & KING, and Falex. We engaged in fruitful discussions with numerous industry experts and enterprise representatives about the future of lubrication.

Expert Recognition Highlights Product Strength

We were deeply honored that several industry experts featured and endorsed our product technologies in their presentations at the forum:

  • Mr. David Boudreau from Vanderbilt

  • Mr. Qu Yiwei from LANXESS China

  • Mr. Li Weimin from the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (LICP, CAS)

In their shares, they specifically highlighted the critical role played by the MTM and MPR  instruments in lubricant material research, showcasing the exceptional capability of these devices to simulate complex operating conditions and evaluate material performance to a broader professional audience.

Furthermore, Dr. Guan Yue, a returned youth expert from the Lanzhou Lubricant R&D Center, provided a detailed account in his presentation of how his former employer, TOTAL' laboratory, was equipped with eight MTM instruments. He offered an in-depth analysis of the MTM's core strengths:

  • Flexible adjustment of speed, load, and temperature.

  • A slip-to-roll ratio range from -200% to 200%, significantly exceeding conventional equipment.

  • Support for test pieces with different materials and surface roughness.

  • Capability to simulate lubricant friction behavior under both energized and non-energized conditions.

  • Compatibility with various atmospheric conditions, including air, hydrogen, and water vapor.

The extensive functional coverage and rich simulation scenarios left a strong impression on the audience.

Live Demonstrations Foster Technical Exchange

At our exhibition booth, we focused on demonstrating:

  • The Tannas TBS3000 High-Temperature High-Shear Viscometer

  • The Tannas TanEV CDT (Conductive Deposit Test) Instrument

These demonstrations attracted numerous R&D personnel and technical experts for exchanges, creating a lively and interactive atmosphere. The TanEV CDT instrument, in particular, impressed visitors with its compact design, which delivers high-performance testing while also offering convenience for laboratory space optimization.

Lubricant Performance Evaluation Solutions for EVs

With the rapid development of the electric vehicle industry, the lubrication safety of e-drive systems has become a key industry focus. Lubricants for electric vehicles must not only reduce wear but also withstand multiple challenges such as high temperatures, high pressure, and strong electric fields. Conductive deposit formation or metal corrosion can directly threaten motor safety.

To address this, we presented our flagship solution for evaluating electric vehicle transmission fluids:

  • TanEV CDT (Conductive Deposit Test) Instrument

  • TanEV WCT (Wire Corrosion Test) Instrument

Working together, these two instruments can accurately simulate real-world operating conditions. They assess the tendency of transmission fluids to form conductive deposits on components like copper wires and motor windings, as well as dynamic corrosion rates under high-temperature environments, thereby helping to safeguard the safety of e-drive systems.

Collaborating for the Future of Lubrication

UAT remains committed to providing the lubrication industry with high-end, precise, and reliable testing solutions. In the future, we will continue to collaborate with our partners to drive innovation and development in lubricant material evaluation technology, contributing to the advancement of lubrication technology in China and worldwide.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone for your attention and support!
